The 2006 season was one of the earliest on record and provided almost perfect weather from flowering through to harvest. Warm summer and autumn temperatures allowed the Cabernet Franc to ripen fully. Flavour development was aided by the cool nights during the crucial period leading up to harvest.
The 2006 Vavasour Rose was harvested in the cool of evening. The grapes were crushed and the juice remained in contact with the skins for 12 hours.
The resulting wine is “salmon” pink in colour. The nose is lifted strawberries and berry fruits. The palate shows strawberries and cream flavours with a long soft finish.
Enjoy the 2006 Vavasour Rose lightly chilled at summer barbeques, or as an aperitif.
This wine is ready to drink on release.
