The 2006 season was one of the earliest on record and provided almost perfect weather from flowering through to harvest. Warm summer and autumn temperatures allowed the Sauvignon Blanc to ripen fully. Flavour development was aided by the cool nights during the crucial period leading up to harvest.
The 2006 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc was produced from fruit grown in the Awatere and Wairau Valleys. Blending fruit from both regions benefits the wine with the aromatics from the Wairau Valley component, and a mineral note from the Awatere Valley component.
This classically styled wine shows lifted passionfruit and fresh tropical notes on the nose. These flavours follow through on to the richly structured palate, which has a long crisp finish.
This wine is ready to drink on release.
Try with Feta cheese.
