The 2005 Dashwood Pinot Noir was carefully harvested from selected Wairau and Awatere Valley vineyards. The 2005 season produced small yields due to cool and wet early summer weather. However, the late summer and autumn were warm and dry, which allowed an extended ripening period for the Pinot Noir.
The smaller than average crops resulted in excellent concentration and flavour, making 2005 one of the best Pinot Noir vintages in recent years.
Hand plunging and maturation in French oak has crafted a wine with elegance and balance.
This bright garnet wine shows lifted cherry fruit and mushroom notes on the nose. The palate exhibits ripe black cherry fruit flavours and has a soft tannin finish. This wine is made to drink young, and will show its best now and over the next 1 to 2 years.
Dashwood Pinot Noir is sealed with a screw top to ensure optimum quality.
