dashwood chardonnay 2006 reviews

Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

Peter Shaw, Waikato Times, 18th July 2007

The wine has an attractive straw scolour. The aromas are of ripe stonefruit, and there are peachy flavours. It has a rich creamy feel, but finishes with a nice acid balance.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2007

A lightly oaked style showing lovely fruit purity - stone fruit, apples - with a hint of vanilla. The palate is youthful and vibrant with delicious fruit characters and a lingering, clean finish.Another very appealing chardonnay for wide appeal. 3 and a half stars

Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

Winestate May/June 2007

Delicious, drink-young style from the Vavasour winery, priced sharply.  Full-flavoured and slightly creamy, with generous, ripe fruit flavours, a hint of butterscotch and fresh  acidity to keep things lively.  3 and a half stars.

Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

Charmian Smith, Otago Daily Times, 6th June 2007

...is fragrant with aromas of quince, apple and stonefruit, a suggestion of citrus and a nice, mealy, nutty suggestion on the palate and a long finish. A satisfying wine at a good price.

Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

WineNZ Magazine, Autumn 2007

Ripe nectarine on the nose. Citrus and pineapple fruit is not terribly concentrated or complex, but pleasant and well made. A touch of residual sweetness but the finish is balanced.

Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

Glenda Neil, Vinoté Wine Cellar Notes, 23rd March 2007

Bright fresh and fruity, loads of sweet grapefruit flavours and just a lick of oak makes this a perfect drink now style, about $16 in NZ.
