The 2004 season provided warm spring and summer weather, with enough rain for healthy shoot growth. The late summer and early autumn weather was warm and dry and ideal for ripening grapes.
The 2004 Dashwood Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from low yielding vines, enabling us to achieve good ripeness levels.
The berries were small resulting in a full bodied wine with attractive tannins. These tannins have softened following 14 months in French oak barriques. The wine shows lifted blackcurrant and cedar notes on the nose with rich plum flavours.
This full bodied wine can be enjoyed now, or will reward with further cellaring for 4 years or more.
