VINTAGE 2009
The 2009 summer was cooler than normal, however perfect
ripening conditions, warm and dry during the day coupled
with cooler nights, in the critical lead up period to harvest
matured the fruit beautifully. This settled weather offered us
the opportunity to harvest at optimum times and to preserve
all that renowned Marlborough flavour and freshness.
VINEYARD
Fruit for the 2009 Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc was harvested
from our ultra premium vineyards in the Awatere Valley.
Harvesting in the cool of night to preserve flavour
and freshness,the fruit showed all the vibrant flavours
that epitomise top quality Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Careful canopy and yieldmanagement, including leaf plucking and shoot thinning,had further enhanced the 2009 fruit quality.
BOUQUET
The aroma shows intense Awatere Valley characters of
gooseberry with ripe tropical notes.
PALATE
Wonderfully fresh and vibrant, the flavours on the palate
show the same ripe tropical and gooseberry aromas.It has a crisp mouth feel and is well balanced with anelegant, long finish.
CELLARING
Ready to drink now and over the next 2-3 years.
