Dashwood Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Bob Campbell, BobsWineReviews.com, August 2008
Light, fresh and fruity wine with delicate herb and lemon grass flavours. Good acidity gives a drying finish. Pretty wine that will no doubt gain flesh and flavour as it settles down in the bottle over the next few months. 81/100.

Fragrant and floral with intense ripe fruit suggesting passionfruit, gooseberries and mineral, with a crisp, assertive finish.
A typical Marlborough Sauvignon and always good value.

Produced by Glenn Thomas at the Vavasour winery in Marlborough's Awatere Valley, this is a model example of the Kiwi style that has captured the hearts and palates of the world. No, it's much better than that. If only all Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was this good. The colour is pale yellow with green glints and the aromas reflect properley ripe grapes, with gooseberry, cut-radish and hints of tropical fruits. The flavour is light on the palate but also very intense; fresh, crisp and clean, with great balance and drinkability. It's not overtly sweet nor does it taste dry to the point of austerity. A masterpeice of the genre. Drink now or within a couple of years.
FOOD: Greenlip Mussels, fresh Oysters, all cold seafoods and fresh goat's milk cheeses.
